Job summary

A leading health organization in Cardiff is seeking a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry. The role involves managing community and in-patient services under the Mental Health Act, working closely with a multidisciplinary team. The position offers a salary range from £130,380 to £154,760 and encourages research and teaching collaboration with local educational institutions. Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive training and experience in Psychiatry including in-patient and community work.
• Evidence of participation in audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice.
• Evidence of active research interests.
• Evidence of teaching medical students and resident doctors.
• Evidence of effective leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as Responsible Clinician for patients under the Mental Health Act.
• Manage both community and in-patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in weekly multidisciplinary meetings for referral discussions.
