We are looking for someone to join our Shipping team within SEFE Marketing & Trading, the ideal candidate will have covered, analysed, or worked in the energy sector covering the energy markets in the Asia-Pacific region, with strong emphasis on natural gas and LNG.

What you will do?

• Monitor the Asian market from fundamental and macro perspectives and share insights with stakeholders regularly – with a special focus on analysing Chinese production, demand, switching and imports, against the wider backdrop of JKTC markets
• Translate overall NEA and broader Asian market fundamental analysis into commercial views, generate trading ideas and communicate them to stakeholders
• Analyse market trend of LNG mid- and long-term with regards to the global demand and supply balance
• Building longer term views on likely market trends. Assisting the business with contract renegotiations and origination deals when required
• Developing views to assist regional LNG price views including the cost of chartering. Staying on top of latest LNG shipping movements, performing competitor analysis and communicating trends

What you’ll bring to the role?

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

• Developing and maintaining supply and demand models to forecast the global LNG balances in the relevant markets in East and South Asia with a focus on China and NEA
• Studying all drivers – by building the tools that impact the price of gas including alternative fuels
• Share insights on wider gas and relevant commodity markets. Understanding their impacts on our views and positions.
