Overview

Senior Food Safety Specialist

Join Harrods’ Food Safety & Technical team as a Senior Food Safety Specialist and lead the way in ensuring our restaurants deliver world-class food safety, legality, and integrity, from concept to launch and beyond. This is a fixed term contract until October 2026.

About the Role

As a Senior Food Safety Specialist, you’ll take a leading role in managing and monitoring food safety across Harrods’ own-run and concession restaurants. You’ll be instrumental in launching new dining concepts, ensuring strict compliance with food safety legislation, and embedding a culture of safety throughout the business. Collaborating with stakeholders, delivering training, and keeping pace with evolving regulations will all be key to your success.

  • Overseeing food safety standards for new restaurant launches, ensuring all documentation, systems, and training are in place ahead of opening.
  • Conducting internal audits, reviewing compliance, and driving timely closure of non-conformances.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on food safety matters in collaboration with the Food Safety Manager.
  • Managing the accuracy of calorie and allergen information across platforms, ensuring legal and brand compliance.
  • Delivering Food Hygiene training to front and back-of-house teams in line with legislation and best practice.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

Please see our Hybrid@Harrods policy on our Career Site for more information or speak to a member of our Talent Acquisition team if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this role.

About You

You will be an experienced food safety professional with a proven track record in managing compliance within a high-profile or complex hospitality environment. You are confident working across departments, influencing senior stakeholders, and leading multiple projects at once. Your expertise allows you to provide practical solutions while upholding the highest standards, and your collaborative approach helps to build strong relationships across the business.

You will have:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Safety/Technical, Environmental Health, or related field.
  • Auditing experience and HACCP management knowledge (Level 3 HACCP desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
