Senior Financial Accountant

A leading London–based insurance group is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team. In his varied role, you'll take ownership of statutory reporting, financial control, and compliance, while driving process improvements and supporting wider finance projects.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare statutory accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP/FRS 102.
  • Lead month–end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Manage VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support external audits and liaise with key stakeholders.
  • Deliver financial analysis and contribute to process/system improvements.

It is essential to have experience in :

  • Strong UK statutory reporting experience with FRS 102/UK GAAP
  • Proven track record in the month–end close process including the implementation of internal controls
  • Experience in coordinating external audits & documentation
  • Solid understanding and experience of insurance accounting and reporting
  • PRA Solvency UK reporting experience
  • 4–5 years of progressive accounting experience in a UK corporate environment
  • Detail–focused, proactive, and comfortable working to tight deadlines.
