Job Description

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in London for a Senior Finance Officer to join the team on a temporary basis. This role will be a key part of the Place/Resources directorate and will support the senior Finance members to make informed decisions for the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and monitoring revenue budgets monthly for services such as Corporate Estates, Facilities Management, Catering, Planning and Building Control.
  • Deliver accurate, insightful financial reports to keep high‑profile budgets on track.
  • Lead on financial forecasting and cash flow planning to support strategic growth.
  • Ensure smooth year‑end processes and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Champion data‑driven insights by extracting and presenting financial information clearly.
  • Contribute to transformation projects that improve services and deliver value for money.
Candidate Criteria
  • Qualified CCAB/CIMA or Part‑Qualified with extensive experience.
  • Experience in a similar role within a Local Government environment.
  • Experience of preparing and monitoring monthly revenue budgets for service areas.
  • High‑level forecasting and reporting skills with experience of cash‑flow planning.
  • Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team.
