Senior Family Support Worker – Targeted Early Help Service

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Family Support Worker within the Targeted Early Help Service Team to work full time based in Barking & Dagenham.

The salary for this permanent Senior Family Support Worker job is up to £44,331 per annum.

  • To supervise and line manage a small team of practitioners in line with the supervision policy, escalating issues of concern for management review and decision making as required.
  • To be responsible for ensuring effective risk management, comprehensive assessments and outcomes focused plans are in place.
  • Complete accurate and timely records to capture the rationale behind the initial threshold decision and recommendations.
  • Ensure all work meets the requirements and timeframes outlined within the Targeted Early Help Practice Standards.
  • Ensure that safeguarding children is central to all work completed and that appropriate action is taken in line with the borough’s safeguarding procedures.
  • In consultation with team managers, make decisions on casework, reviewing assessments and recommending appropriate levels of intervention and support, identifying cases that require transfer to the social work teams.
  • To work with the Team Manager to ensure consistent delivery across the localities and an equal distribution of work across the borough. This may involve moving staff between localities to manage demand.
  • To contribute to developing the local early help partnership, chairing meetings as required.
  • To be responsible, together with the line manager and other managers, for the provision of management information and its interrogation to inform service provision and meet performance indicators.
  • To liaise effectively and work with universal and statutory services where appropriate.
  • To assess and monitor risk for children and young people and take responsibility for informing the appropriate statutory safeguarding agencies where appropriate.
  • To take responsibility for updating specialist knowledge in the chosen service area and to undertake training as identified.
  • To contribute to local and departmental training on practice issues in line with departmental policies and procedures, in light of research findings.

Requirements of this Senior Family Support Worker job:
