The company works closely with Tier 1 main contractors, delivering complex external envelope packages of up to £20m on flagship commercial, residential, cultural, heritage and high‑end residential schemes.

In addition to its specialist façade division, the business also operates a separate main contracting arm, strengthening its technical capability and enabling seamless coordination from early design through to project delivery. Known for precision craftsmanship, technical excellence and long‑standing client relationships, the company is regarded as one of the most trusted names in the UK façade sector.

About the Role

The business is seeking a Senior Façade Designer to join its established technical team. The role involves producing cladding and flooring layouts, detailed drawings and manufacturing information using AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit. You will also support steel bracket and connection design, structural analysis, engineering calculations and the development of complete façade build‑ups.

Ideal candidates will have experience with stone, masonry, precast, faience, rainscreen and backing‑wall systems (LGSF or traditional masonry). Experience gained with a design‑and‑build façade contractor is highly desirable.

The position also includes attending site for surveys, participating in design meetings and liaising with main contractors, architects, engineers and specialist suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed façade, cladding and flooring drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit
  • Design steel brackets, connections and secondary steel structures
  • Undertake engineering analysis, structural checks and thermal calculations
  • Coordinate complete façade build‑ups, including backing‑wall solutions
  • Attend site surveys and project design meetings
  • Liaise with main contractors, architects, engineers and suppliers throughout the design process
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Architecture, Structural Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in façade, architectural or structural design (RIBA Stages 4–5 preferred)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Inventor and Revit knowledge beneficial (training provided if required)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines
  • Familiarity with British Standards, Eurocodes and UK Building Regulations (or willingness to learn)
  • 10+ years in architectural / structural engineering preferredRight to work in the UK

Salary: £50,000–£70,000 per year
