4Site Recruitment has been retained exclusively to appoint a Senior Estimator to join a leading construction company delivering complex, high‑specification projects across heritage buildings, façade packages, hotels and high‑end residential schemes.

The business has a strong project pipeline, with opportunities for this person to build and develop their own estimating team.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, producing competitive bids, and ensuring profitability across multiple bespoke projects. You will coordinate closely with internal teams, the supply chain, and clients, maintaining absolute cost certainty and driving excellence throughout the tender process.

This position suits an ambitious, dynamic estimator with strong technical knowledge and experience in the high-end residential or specialist construction sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of bids, tenders and proposals, ensuring timely submission of all documentation.
  • Manage and develop the estimating team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, equipment and overheads.
  • Oversee cost planning and present final cost plans with full accuracy and clarity.
  • Maintain accurate internal rate schedules in conjunction with the commercial team.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, design teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications and contract documents to identify risks or discrepancies.
  • Produce cost reports, budget analysis and variance reports for senior management.
  • Ensure all bids reflect a strong understanding of market trends, pricing and best practice.
Requirements
  • Extensive estimating experience within high-end residential or complex bespoke construction.
  • Strong construction methodology knowledge; experience pricing in-house trades is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam and Excel.
  • Highly numerate with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Analytical, methodical and solutions-focused.
  • Leadership and team management experience.
  • Quantity Surveying or Construction Management qualification beneficial.
