About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior EHS Advisor to join Amentum in our Infrastructure Asset Solutions line of business. The successful candidate will become part of a respected and ambitious team working in the Utilities and Infrastructure sectors. We are seeking a Senior EHS Advisor to engage with and support our operational teams throughout the life cycle of our Utilities Projects across the Yorkshire and Humber Regions, including key frameworks and projects such as the Yorkshire Water Framework and the Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance. The EHS Advisor will work directly with the Amentum project teams, our wider supply‑chain and our clients to support the governance of Health & Safety. This role involves promoting and influencing EHS behaviours and culture, adding value through innovation and best practice, while being accountable for ensuring the safe delivery of EHS excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure delivery meets company and client requirements by determining safe methods of working, identifying hazards and unsafe conditions, and advising on written method statements; assist in producing, reviewing and updating risk assessments and safety documentation.
  • Carry out site safety inspections, undertake targeted audits and promote a strong safety culture to improve behavioural safety.
  • Develop and implement forward initiatives and training to learn from experience, provide coaching and enable continuous improvement.
  • Ensure management and workforce are aware of site conditions & requirements, HS&E legislation, environmental consents, impact assessments, codes of practice changes and any other changes that may occur.
  • Engage with all levels within the organisation.
  • Provide competent conventional safety advice.
  • Handle injury/incident reporting and investigation.
Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General and/or Construction certificate.
  • Significant site and construction experience.
  • Experience in incident investigation and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with people at all levels of an organisation.
  • Good knowledge of CDM.
  • Technical member of IOSH (minimum).
  • Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
