Lead the Future of Nuclear Waste Management

The role

As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you’ll deliver technical activities relating to nuclear waste management and strategy through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience. This is a unique opportunity to influence projects that are critical to energy security and national protection, while advancing your career in a dynamic and growing consultancy environment.

Day-to-day, you will

  • Providing technical direction and resolving complex nuclear waste issues.
  • Compiling technical reports and delivering presentations to stakeholders.
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues to develop capability within the team.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and customers.
  • Driving business awareness and contributing to consultancy growth plans.

This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, based in Warrington, Cheshire. Hybrid working patterns are available.

Essential experience of the Senior Environmental Consultant
  • Extensive experience within the nuclear industry, including:
  • Decommissioning planning and implementation.
  • Integrated waste management strategies and waste characterisation.
  • Environmental planning, permitting, and compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Ability to produce and peer-review technical guidance and standards.
  • Consultancy experience with a track record of delivering strategic projects.
Qualifications for the Senior Environmental Consultant
  • Degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Scientist status.
  • Additional certifications in waste management or nuclear safety (advantageous).
