Job Title: Senior Engineer – System Operations
Description:

We are hiring for our client, a key organisation in the energy sector, who are seeking a Senior Engineer – System Operations to join their high-performing team in Belfast (Hybrid). This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of Northern Ireland’s electricity system operations, ensuring secure and efficient real-time system performance and emergency preparedness.

The successful Senior Engineer will play a pivotal role supporting the delivery of complex operational activities, including emergency planning, stakeholder engagement, and grid optimisation — while working across both Irish and Northern Irish control centres.

The Role:
  • Provide operational support from year-ahead planning to real-time system performance

  • Contribute to emergency plans, testing, and readiness activities for control centres

  • Deliver key technical outputs including reports, guidance, and briefings

The Person:

  • Desirable: power system analysis skills and tools (e.g., power flow software), strong MS Office proficiency
