Senior Electronics Engineer Test Lead | Cambridge | £55,000 - £65,000

The role involves planning and coordinating the verification and validation of advanced electronic assemblies at the PCB, sub-assembly, and full-system levels. The position requires a strong background in electronics, including the ability to diagnose and fault-find complex electronic hardware down to individual components.

The Role:
  • Develop standardised test procedures and turnaround times for functional and verification testing.
  • Lead and manage the test team, assign tasks, and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to define robust requirements that ensure comprehensive test coverage for electronic assemblies.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to establish requirements that demonstrate designs meet end‑user needs.
  • Coordinate with senior technical staff to prioritise testing sequences and adjust plans based on test outcomes or feedback from field issues.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • A proactive individual with a strong academic foundation.
  • Holds an HNC in Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • More than five years of experience in a production testing environment.
  • Capable of interpreting schematics and understanding functional circuit blocks.
  • Able to quickly familiarise themselves with new electronic assemblies using schematics, requirements, documentation, and technical discussions.
  • Skilled in component-level fault finding and experienced in producing structured problem‑solving reports (e.g., 8D).
  • Possesses strong knowledge of electronics and IT systems.
