Job description
Senior Electronics Engineer

Cambridge | 5 days on site | Up to £75k + benefits

Ready to join a business where you will make an immediate impact and drive company success?

This is aunique, hands-on electronics role working on a complex, safety-critical medical device that will directly impact patient outcomes. You'll be part of a small, highly capable engineering team developing electronics from early architecture through to production, so experience across full-lifecycle is essential.

The work is broad and technical. One day you might be deep into PCB-level power electronics or motor drives, the next you're shaping system-level architecture, reviewing EMC risk, or bringing up first prototypes on the bench. If you enjoy owning designs end to end and working closely with mechanical and software engineers, this will suit you well.

What you’ll be doing
  • Designing and developing PCB-level electronics, from schematic through to manufacture
  • Hands‑on bring‑up, test and debug of prototypes, including development of production test methods
  • Working directly with suppliers on PCB fabrication and cable assemblies
  • Designing electronics that are manufacturable, testable and serviceable
  • Contributing to the build‑out of an in‑house electronics lab
  • Influencing system and sub‑system electronic architecture and technology choices
  • Ensuring designs meet EMC and safety requirements for medical devices
  • Producing clear technical documentation and working from formal requirements
  • Collaborating closely with mechanical, systems and software engineers
  • Mentoring more junior engineers as the team grows
What they’re looking for
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronic Engineering
  • Strong experience in PCB design and electronic system architecture
  • Confident using tools such as Altium Designer
  • Track record of taking electronics from concept through to production
  • Solid experience with EMC compliance and exposure to medical safety standards (IEC 60601 or similar)
  • Clear communicator who documents work properly
  • Most importantly, they are looking for somebody who is committed and thrives in challenging, but rewarding environments – culture match for this role is essential. You will be one of the first engineers in this business and so the opportunities for personal career development are vast. There couldn’t be a more exciting time to join.

This is an early‑stage environment. Priorities shift, problems are not neatly boxed, and everyone is expected to get stuck in. In return, you get real technical ownership, influence over how things are built, and the chance to work on a product that actually matters.

If you want a role where your electronics expertise won’t be diluted, and you enjoy solving hard problems in a regulated, real‑world setting, then please get in touch.
