Overview

Pay: £60,000.00-£70,000.00 per year

Job title: Senior Electrical Estimator

Location: London WC1X 8NX

Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Estimator with at least 5 years’ experience to produce accurate, competitive tender submissions. You’ll estimate LV/HV electrical scopes across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects, guiding bid strategy and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit electrical tenders, including take-offs, labour, materials, and equipment costs.
• Analyse technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities.
• Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Apply overhead, profit margin, contingency, and risk allowance in estimates.
• Mentor junior estimators and ensure quality control.
• Present, defend, and adjust estimates based on internal review and client feedback.
• Conduct site visits to validate assumptions.
• Monitor market trends and adjust cost data accordingly.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience in M&E contracting or construction.
• Deep understanding of LV and HV electrical systems.
• Proven experience with project values ranging from ~£200k to £60m+.
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Trimble/WinEst, CostOS, Simpro) and strong Excel skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
• Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related field preferred.
• UK driving licence desirable for site visits.
