Job description

Senior E-Commerce ExecutiveLocation: Bolton

We’re on the lookout for a Senior Ecommerce Executive who loves digging into data, spotting opportunities, and turning insights into action. This role is all about making our customers’ online experience the best it can be – removing friction, adding personal touches, and making sure every click counts. You’ll balance creativity with commercial thinking to deliver changes that really move the needle for both our customers and AO.

Our people are our superpower, and we’re unstoppable when we’re together! We want your ideas to flow, and what better way to make that happen than being based onsite, 5 days a week, where our culture fuels creativity, collaboration and growth. If a £1 bet in the pub between two friends can become the UK’s most trusted electrical retailer, imagine what else can be achieved when we’re together!

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver conversion rate optimisation (CRO) strategies to improve onsite performance and customer experience.
  • Analyse customer behaviour to identify friction points and optimise the purchase funnel; ensure all initiatives align with wider business objectives and commercial goals.
  • Implement personalised experiences across the site, including product recommendations, social proof, and tailored content; drive initiatives that make content and messaging more relevant for individual customer segments.
  • Use analytics to measure the impact of CRO initiatives and provide actionable insights.
  • Monitor key metrics such as revenue per visitor, conversion rate, and average order value to inform optimisation strategies.
  • Lead and build A/B tests to validate hypotheses and measure performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with UX designers, web analysts, developers, and internal/external teams to implement test variations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in conversion rate optimisation within an e‑commerce environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and turn insights into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent storytelling ability – translating data into compelling narratives about customer behaviour and optimisation opportunities.
  • Experience in A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (GA4 preferred but not essential).
  • Experience with tools such as Bloomreach, Coveo, Dynamic Yield, and Monetate (essential).
