The Role

Senior business analysis role supporting digital and technology initiatives across underwriting within a growing insurance organisation. This role acts as the bridge between underwriting, operations, and technology teams, translating business needs into viable digital and operational solutions that support the future of the underwriting business.

This position sits within Mission's UK and Europe Digital and Technology team, providing hands-on business analysis support to underwriting teams through the delivery of digital, technology, and operational change.

Reporting to the Programme Lead, you will identify and analyse business challenges, design practical solutions, and support the delivery of technology changes to ensure the business is ready to adopt and operate new systems and processes.

You will work closely with underwriting, technology, and delivery teams in a fast-paced, start-up environment, with responsibility spanning requirements definition, backlog support, stakeholder engagement, and solution validation.

The role requires strong technical awareness and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering teams, including participation in software configuration activities where required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with business stakeholders
  • Conduct detailed analysis using appropriate techniques to define and articulate requirements
  • Translate business requirements into clear inputs for development and delivery teams
  • Support the Product Owner with backlog management, prioritisation, and value definition
  • Facilitate continuous collaboration with agile delivery teams to support changing needs
  • Analyse trends and synthesise insights to inform recommendations and the technology roadmap
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders as a trusted advisor
  • Support testing activities related to software deployments and updates
  • Maintain continuous engagement with end users to ensure solutions remain relevant

  • Proven Business Analyst experience within insurance environments
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance and claims processes
  • Experience working within agile delivery models (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Exposure to insurance technology platforms, including policy or programme administration systems
  • Experience supporting software implementations and technology change
  • Client‑facing experience and strong facilitation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
