Job summary

A leading construction recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager in Leeds to manage design consultants on a high-rise residential project valued at £120m. The role involves overseeing timely delivery of design information and supporting the design team through various project stages. Ideal candidates will have Tier 1 contractor experience, a degree in a construction-related discipline, and strong commercial awareness. The salary range is £85K - £90K plus packages based on experience.

Job description

I'm recruiting on behalf of my client a Leading Tier 1 Main Contractor an experienced Senior Design Manager in the Leeds area. Start date: Asap. Salary range: £85K - £90K + packages this will be based on experience. Division: Construction New Build. About the project: Highrise Residential £120m project value. Required: High rise residential / Tier 1 main contractor experience.

Reporting into the project team you will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project and to help and guidance to design co-ordinators where and as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Manage design consultants and sub consultants along with design sub-contractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of all design related information for the execution of the works on site
• Input into the selection of the design team
• Input into the Employers Requirement/Contractor Proposal Compatibility
• Manage and assist the Design Manager during the construction phase
• Chair and minute Design meetings and ensure production of information in line with the design
• Consider alternative building methods, sub-contractor and materials

Experience

• Understand the different Client procurement routes
• Experience of working at pre-construction stage
• Understanding of D&B contracts
• Commercial awareness
• Be able to use Microsoft Word / Excel / PowerPoint
• Be able to use Viewpoint for Projects (4Projects)
