Job summary

A leading Tier 1 contractor in the UK is seeking a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager for an immediate freelance contract. This role involves managing design processes on high-value projects, with an emphasis on coordination and timely delivery. Candidates should possess a UK construction qualification and have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role. Opportunities exist for those familiar with both live and preconstruction projects. The contract duration is anticipated to be between 6 to 9 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Design Manager for main contractors.
• Experience on projects valued at circa £40m-£50m or larger.
• Familiarity with PCSA projects is beneficial.

Design Manager / Senior Design Manager – Freelance – Tier 1 contractor

This leading Tier 1, national contractor has an immediate requirement for a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager to work on a 6–9-month freelance contract initially to support their current live projects.

For this Senior Design Manager role, you will have the opportunity to join a busy contractor. With numerous projects due to start and on site this thriving Tier 1 business has opportunities to work within DfE framework, hospitals, met police and residential projects.

This freelance contract will be on a live project of circa £40m-£50m in value so Design Managers with experience of following a project through design to site and completion. Tier 1 contractor experience is not essential however, you will have worked as a Design Manager involved on a project of similar value or larger.

A UK construction qualification is required for this role and at least 10yrs working as a Design Manager for main contractors on projects as above mentioned. Another benefit will be to have worked on PCSA projects and have both live projects and preconstruction on your CV.
