Senior Commissioning Engineer Opportunities

As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We have opportunities for Senior Commissioning Engineers to work on a wide range of projects. You’ll take on a pivotal leadership role within our multi-disciplined commissioning team, supporting the Royal Navy’s submarine fleet during Deep Maintenance Periods. You’ll lead a team of Engineers and industrial staff to deliver complex commissioning activities on some of the most advanced machines on the planet.

What you’ll do:
  • Leading a team to inspect, test, and commission submarine systems, ensuring safety and performance.
  • Designing and authorising safe isolations for intrusive work on submarine systems.
  • Researching and approving technical documentation to support commissioning activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, engineering quality, and nuclear standards.
  • Providing leadership, mentoring, and line management to Commissioning Engineers.
What you’ll need:
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning principles and isolation methodologies.
  • Experience with submarine operations or maintenance.
  • Extensive background in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Constructive/Naval Architecture).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
