Job summary

Engine by Starling is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run cloud foundations for a global, cloud-native banking platform. You will own scalable GCP infrastructure, ensure reliability, cost control, and security-by-design across regions and providers.

The role emphasizes leadership on complex projects, writing clear docs, and mentoring peers within a fast-paced fintech environment. Hybrid working in the UK is supported, with offices to interact in person.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-region GCP disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, build and maintain scalable infrastructure on GCP.
• Ensure the performance and reliability of cloud environments while controlling costs.
• Automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual work.
• Design and operate key and secret management (KMS, Secret Manager).
• Lead complex infra projects from inception to production.
