Job description
OverviewA 12‑month post based at Royal Free, Hampstead, London, designed for a clinician who has completed internal medicine/core medical training and has an interest in medical education and clinical research within infectious diseases, microbiology and virology. The role is 50% teaching with the UCL Medical School undergraduate programme and 50% clinical and research duties.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and further develop the UCL Medical School undergraduate clinical teaching programme in the Departments of Infectious Disease, Microbiology and Virology.
  • Support study for a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education and obtain Good Clinical Practice certification.
  • Recruit, consent and monitor patients in ongoing clinical trials under consultant supervision.
  • Attend the weekly Infectious Diseases ward round and microbiology clinical meetings.
  • Participate in the chronic infection clinic and the outpatient antibiotic therapy virtual ward round.
  • Provide undergraduate clinical teaching and contribute to infection teaching portfolio.
  • Participate in the registrar on‑call rota for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, depending on clinical experience.
