Job summary

A UK Healthcare Provider is seeking a full-time CT3 equivalent anaesthesia role to support surgical procedures and teaching initiatives. Job Overview

CT3 equivalent post – Full time permanent. The appointed candidate will be supported in completion of all key competencies set by the Royal College of Anaesthetists. The post holder will participate in teaching a multidisciplinary team and will support the high fidelity simulation centre. Additional support with FRCA exam practice is provided through a strong department teaching programme.

Responsibilities
  • General anaesthesia with experience of elective and emergency surgery for ASA 1‑4 patients.
  • Paediatric anaesthesia for children aged five and over and experience of total intravenous anaesthesia.
  • Regional anaesthesia with training in ultrasound‑guided regional techniques.
  • Obstetric anaesthesia – on‑call experience in obstetrics including management of ASA 3 parturients.
  • Resuscitation and intra‑hospital transfers as part of the medical emergency team.
  • Pain management – access to pain management clinics and acute pain ward rounds.
  • Intensive care – three months experience in adult intensive care unit for trainees who have completed at core level.
  • Support for the Simulation Centre – develop and deliver teaching across the trust with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attend teaching sessions, departmental quality improvement meetings, and FRCA exam preparation (Primary or Final). The SLAP course has achieved very high pass rates.
Qualifications
  • NHS based experience and a valid right to work.
  • CT3 equivalent and support to complete Royal College of Anaesthetists competencies.
  • Experience in general, paediatric, regional, obstetric anaesthesia, resuscitation, pain management, and intensive care.
  • Strong teaching and simulation support experience preferred.
  • Ability to attend departmental quality improvement meetings and FRCA exam preparation.
