Job description

We are expanding our Sales team and we are looking for a Senior Client Development Director. As an integral part of our sales team you will be responsible for both new business and growth from existing accounts for The Collective. Reporting into the Vice President of Sales Solutions UK, you will form part of the Leadership Team within The Collective and will have line management responsibilities. Your and your team's primary focus will be the development, ownership and delivery of the sales and existing client growth strategy. You will have expertise in new business sales with a strong background in experiential events.

Responsibilities
  • Ownership of the strategic vision for new business sales, and growth from a portfolio of existing accounts within The Collective. Translate revenue targets into clear and actionable strategies.
  • Leadership and day‑to‑day management of team members, including mentoring and development.
  • Prepare and present a quarterly strategy update.
  • Take ownership of any new proposals, tenders and RFPs assigned or generated, including delivery of presentations and pitches and creation of case studies that showcase our services.
  • Keep in touch with everything that is new, exciting, and relevant in the event industry.
  • Maintain a commercial perspective on the proposal being put forward to the client; ensure the client receives best‑value solutions and each project offers BCD Meetings & Events a meaningful profit opportunity.
  • Implement a new‐business strategy that includes target accounts, engagement plans, client activity, industry events and awards, owning and implementing a strategic vision for new‑business sales and growth from a portfolio of existing accounts with the ability to translate revenue targets into clear and actionable strategies.
  • Highly effective at initiating and leading cross‑functional and cross‑regional teams by building collaborative relationships.
  • Drive a sales culture that permeates within the team, ensuring clear growth plans are in place and achieved across all direct reports.
  • Proven delivery on securing new business for experiential events.
  • Experience working alongside marketing teams to create and implement proactive client‑engagement campaigns, social media content.
  • Actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation, credentials pitch, asking questions, solution pitch, negotiation, close and contracting.
Qualifications
  • Line management experience.
  • Expertise in sales for other services within the event industry.
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Additional Requirements
  • This is a UK remote‑based role which requires flexibility to travel and attend client, industry and networking events (face‑to‑face and virtually) and to collaborate with The Collective operation and leadership teams.
