Job description
Overview

Open to current employees of Clatterbridge Centre, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Liverpool University Hospitals, Liverpool Women’s Hospital and Walton Centre. This role supports the Endoscopy Department’s 7‑day service expansion by providing senior clerical support.

Responsibilities
  • Book outpatient and day‑case appointments, ensuring high‑quality service and efficient department running.
  • Maintain hospital systems (IPM, dashboard, ICE, PENS), monitor waiting lists and record procedures on IPM PAS.
  • Support pre‑investigation and the E‑referral service, liaise with specialist nurse team, health professionals and GP surgeries.
  • Deal with referral booking for diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, liaise with anti‑coagulant nurse and dietician when appropriate.
  • Monitor and highlight waiting list breaches, manage outpatient pre‑invest system and record ward attenders.
  • Provide appointment letters, leaflets and research information to patients, ensuring procedures are booked onto appropriate lists in accordance with the Endoscopist’s skill level.
  • Record outcomes on IPM PAS and remove patients from the waiting list as necessary in accordance with the Trust’s access policy.
Qualifications
  • IT literate, proficient with most Office software and able to work unsupervised.
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Previous health‑sector experience is an advantage.
  • Flexible and supportive of the department, able to cover cross‑site demands at Broadgreen when required.
