Overview
Senior Civil Engineer (Infrastructure) – Bristol | £40,000 - £50,000 + Hybrid + Bonus + Private Healthcare + Support with Chartership
Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, architects, and other professionals, always representing the business in a professional manner.
- Manage and deliver projects, providing leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior team members.
- Take responsibility for multiple projects simultaneously, balancing technical design and client-facing duties.
- Check calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports prepared by others, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
- Lead and coordinate design teams both internally and externally.
- Deliver highway and drainage design to UK design standards across a range of development sectors.
- Produce supporting documentation such as Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, and Site Viability Assessments.
- Undertake site visits to monitor progress against specifications, raising issues where necessary.
- Apply working knowledge of Highway Authority agreements (Sections 38 & 278) and Water Authority agreements (Sections 102, 104, 106, 116 & 185).
- Use relevant software including AutoCAD, Autotrack, Site 3D, MicroDrainage, Flow, or similar civil engineering packages.
- Support business development by representing the consultancy at external meetings, networking, and industry events.
About You
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
- Chartered or near-Chartered with a recognised institution (e.g. ICE).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects.
- Experienced in highway and drainage design with sound knowledge of UK design standards.
- Proficient in the use of industry-standard civil engineering software.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff.
- Demonstrable consultancy experience across a variety of development sectors.
- Full UK driving licence.
