Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

What you'll be doing
  • Leading shifts and providing direction to the care team
  • Supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural, or learning needs in a residential setting
  • Acting as a key worker and positive role model for young people and staff
  • Creating and maintaining nurturing environments where children can thrive
  • Working closely with management to deliver care plans and uphold safeguarding procedures
  • Assisting with budgets, administration, and the smooth running of the home
What we're looking for in a Senior Children's Practitioner
  • At least 1 year's experience in children's residential care
  • Level 3 or 4 Residential Childcare qualification (or working towards with strong progress)
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide and support a team
  • A genuine interest in supporting vulnerable looked-after children and young people
  • Resilience, patience, and excellent communication skills
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a Senior Practitioner or shift leader in residential childcare
  • Extensive knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
