A healthcare provider in Derby is looking for a compassionate care leader to develop care plans and supervise staff. Responsibilities include medication management, health monitoring, and providing direct personal care. The candidate should have an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in care and prior experience as a care assistant. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
Care Planning: Develop, implement, and review care plans, ensuring they are followed correctly and tailored to the service user's specific requirements.
Medication Management: Administer medication to service users in accordance with care plans, policies, and procedures.
Health Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs, observations, and the general progress of service users, reporting any changes to appropriate healthcare professionals.
Communication: Liaise with families, GPs, and other health professionals, providing updates on the service user's progress and building positive relationships.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of daily activities, care provided, and observations in line with organizational policies.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that high standards of care are delivered and maintained, conducting quality checks on care assistants.
Training & Mentoring: Participate in the training and induction of new staff members, sharing best practices and skills.
Staff Supervision & Support: Oversee and mentor a team of care assistants, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
Client Care: Provide direct personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, feeding, and mobility, focusing on individual needs, dignity, and independence.
Qualifications: A relevant qualification in care, such as NVQ/SVQ Level 3, is often required.
Experience: Previous experience as a care assistant is essential.
Leadership: The ability to lead and motivate a team.
Communication: Strong verbal and listening skills to communicate effectively with service users, families, and colleagues.
