Senior Care and Support Assistant

£13.52 per hour

37.5 hours per week

Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Care and Support Assistant at our CQC Registered Learning Disabilities Service, Skelton Court in Leicester.

The role of Senior Care and Support Assistant will include:

  • Leading a team of Care and Support Assistants
  • Working closely with staff to provide personal care and support to customers, encouraging them to enhance their independence and personal potential
  • Safe handling of medication
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers
  • Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments as appropriate
  • Managing and implementing safeguarding principles to ensure the safety of our customers

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience supervising a team
  • Personalised approach to care and support, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds
  • Recent experience of working in a similar role with vulnerable people is essential
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
