Job summary

Immunocore Ltd in Oxford is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation to advance analytical methods for biopharmaceutical products. The role involves peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS), mass spectrometry-based characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies, and glycosylation analysis within a pioneering TCR biotherapeutics environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing HPLC-based peptide mapping methods.
• Mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience with glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins from microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical lab experience.
• Expert in electrophoretic / chromatographic / mass spectrometry areas.
• Experience in assay development.
• Familiar with biopharmaceutical stability study principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and carry out biochemical characterisation, chemical stability and comparability studies of biologics/drug products.
• Contribute to writing study protocols and reports.
• Independently testing and leading lines of investigation; propose new experiments.
• Mentor colleagues and share knowledge with the team.
• Present detailed findings to internal and external audiences.
• Adhere to EHS policies and maintain accurate laboratory records.
