Job summary

Immunocore in Oxford is seeking a Senior Scientist I - Characterisation to support drug substance and product impurity characterisation, including peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass analysis of biologics. You will contribute to process development by characterising intermediates and testing biomolecules in both microbial and mammalian systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in development of HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and MS characterisation of proteins/antibodies.
• Glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Characterisation of proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biology.
• Bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Characterise drug substances and products, including impurity characterisation.
• Contribute to development of characterisation methods (LC-MS/MS, intact mass).
• Design and carry out biochemical characterisation and stability studies.
• Write study protocols and reports; present research findings to stakeholders.
• Mentor colleagues and share scientific knowledge across the department.
• Ensure compliant laboratory records and best practices.
