Oxford Immunocore seeks a Senior Scientist I in Characterisation within the CMC group to advance biotherapeutic product characterisation using LC-MS/MS and HPLC peptide mapping. The role focuses on glycosylation analysis, PTMs, and protein characterisation across microbial and mammalian systems.

You will develop and apply analytical methods, contribute to study protocols, and present findings to multi-disciplinary teams, supporting development of therapeutic biologics.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in development of HPLC-based peptide mapping methods and mass spectrometric characterisation of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Experience of glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies.
• Independently coordinated extensive testing of protein biomolecules.
• Experienced in the characterisation of proteins expressed in both microbial and mammalian systems.
• Understanding of expected post-translational modifications in biological systems.
• Worked in a bench-based biopharmaceutical laboratory environment.
• Established as an expert amongst peers in electrophoretic, chromatographic or mass spectrometry techniques.
• Experienced in assay development.
• Familiar with biopharmaceutical stability study principles and interpretation thereof.
• Worked and contributed actively in a diverse team environment.
• Proposed and driven changes in working practices that have improved efficiency and supported teams through adoption and change.
• Presented detailed scientific findings and papers to internal and external audiences.

Aufgaben

• Characterise impurities and identify drug substance/product variants.
• Perform protein sequence and PTM identification including glycosylation analysis.
• Support development of characterisation of process intermediates.
• Contribute to methods development for ImmTAX and related products (peptide mapping LC-MS/MS, intact mass).
• Design and execute biochemical characterisation and stability studies of biologics/drug products.
• Assist in drafting study protocols and reports.
• Independently test and lead investigation lines; propose new experiments.
• Mentor colleagues and share knowledge across departments.
