Job summary

Integral Cooling Technologies’ Industrial Refrigeration Division seeks a Technical Sales Manager to own major bids from concept to tender and award. You will develop senior client relationships, interpret briefs, and craft cost-effective schemes for food manufacturing, cold storage and logistics in the Leeds area.

This role is a true bid-lead position, not account management. You will manage the bid programme, ensure compliance, and coordinate across design, estimating, procurement, delivery,

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in UK industrial refrigeration.
• Proven bid leadership with success in £500k–£6m schemes.
• Experience taking sales phase from concept to tender submission and award.
• Familiarity with formal design review gates, contract review and authority levels.
• Commercial negotiation at senior client level (price, scope, programme, terms).
• Knowledge of BS EN 378 and Pressure Equipment Regulations; CDM 2015, DSEAR, F‑Gas.
• Ammonia plant knowledge including two‑stage systems and pumped circulation.
• Ability to develop concept designs and perform heat load/duty calculations.
• Understanding of food manufacturing, cold storage and logistics operations.
• Ability to build/defend a detailed cost model; write scopes/exclusions; manage contract risk.
• Experience directing at least one direct report or bid resource.
• Strong written/presentation skills; proficient in Word/Excel/PowerPoint/CRM.

Responsibilities

• Build and qualify the pipeline. Develop senior relationships with end users, consultants, main contractors and framework holders; position us early in capital planning and apply bid/no-bid discipline.
• Turn briefs into solutions. Interrogate specifications, survey sites and develop concept schemes with Industrial Design Manager; address system architecture and energy/cost considerations.
• Own the tender. Run the bid programme, build a traceable cost model, secure supplier pricing and write scopes; present and defend the tender.
• Get compliance right at bid stage. Ensure offers price BS EN 378, PED, DSEAR, F‑Gas and COMAH screening.
• Lead across the business. Coordinate design, estimating, procurement, delivery, finance and legal to a single programme; flag risks to deadlines.
• Lead bid support. Direct and develop Bid/Estimating team while owning lead bid responsibility.
• Hand over cleanly. Upon award, handover to Contracts/Project Management and stay accountable for sold commitments.
