Job summary

A multinational biotechnology sector leader is seeking an experienced Authorising Engineer to ensure compliance with safety and legislative standards. This role involves auditing Safe Systems of Work, conducting technical audits, and providing mentorship to technical teams. Candidates should possess a HND in engineering or equivalent, along with relevant AE/AP qualifications. Exceptional communication and technical skills are essential. This position is based in City of London, UK.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of current safety legislation and management.
• Experience in advising on good practice technical management.
• Ability to interpret and provide authoritative advice on technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with technical, safety, and legislative standards.
• Develop and audit Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
• Conduct risk-based technical audits to mitigate risks.

Skills

Demonstrable AE/AP knowledge

Technical, safety and risk management knowledge

Quality management systems (ISO9001 and ISO45001)

Strong communication skills

Proficient in IT tools

Education

HND-level qualification in relevant engineering discipline

HV/LV AP and AE qualifications

Recognised safety qualification (e.g. IOSH, SMSTS)
