A leading healthcare provider in East Kilbride seeks an experienced Senior Advanced Practitioner. The role involves providing advanced clinical care for patients, making autonomous decisions, and supporting other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will have a valid registration, advanced practice qualifications, and a commitment to patient-centered care. The post holder will work as a senior advanced practitioner responsible for providing advanced clinical care and management of both the stable and acutely unwell patients and his/her family, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge. They will have overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care. The post holder will be an experienced clinician, who acting within their professional boundaries will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care. The senior advanced practitioner must demonstrate competence within all four pillars of advanced practice and make professional, autonomous decisions for which he/she is accountable.
The post holder will provide the assessment, examination, diagnosis, management and treatment initiation to a range of adults and /or children.
As a senior clinician within the department the senior advanced practitioner will also play an important part in leadership and teaching for both AHP, nursing and medical staff. The post holder will provide leadership, clinical support and advice to AHP, nursing and junior medical staff, making appropriate referrals to, and co-ordinating the contribution of other members of the multi-professional team as well as providing specialist education, training to nurses, AHP’s, students and junior medical staff,
The post holder will commit to demonstrating critical thinking whilst providing safe, competent clinical decision-making skills. In order to work at this level, HCPC/NMC / GPHC requirements for advanced practice must be met. The senior advanced practitioner will provide direct patient management in collaboration and consultation with departmental consultants / General Practitioners.
