Senior Actuary, Pricing
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Actuary to join our dynamic pricing team in Europe. The role is part of an international crew, responsible for the markets within Europe with a strong focus on the UK market, a focus on the markets in Europe, with a focus on the European market, the position has a strong focus on the UK markets.
Responsibilities
- Pricing Strategy Development: Lead the development and refinement of pricing models and strategies to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Identify market trends and recommend pricing adjustments to enhance profitability and competitiveness.
- Data Analysis and Modeling: Apply actuary techniques and predictive analytics to assess risks and design pricing scenarios.
- Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine‑learning solutions for greater pricing accuracy.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate pricing insights to senior management, underwriting teams, and key stakeholders.
- Act as an adviser on pricing matters, supporting executive decisions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all pricing practices adhere to relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and evaluate their impact on pricing approaches.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and nurture junior actuaries, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Lead project teams to achieve on‑time high‑quality deliverables.
- Performance Monitoring: Track portfolio performance and suggest pricing structural adjustments.
- Conduct regular model reviews to keep them robust and relevant.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum five years in a pricing‑focused actuarial position, preferably in insurance or re‑insurance.
- Proven success in developing pricing strategies that foster business growth and profitability.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., Emblem, Radar, Python, etc.), and a sound grasp of statistical and predictive modeling.
- Knowledge of UK regulatory rules and Solvency II.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and presentation abilities, translating complex actuarial concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership and team‑management ability, mentoring junior professionals.
