A fast-growing insurance broker seeks a Broker for its Commercial team in Cheltenham. The role entails managing commercial risks across various sectors, handling client accounts, and leading business development efforts. Candidates must have commercial insurance experience, comfortable with large client premiums, and possess a Cert CII qualification. This position offers a hands-on opportunity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
We have partnered with a fast-growing insurance broker that specialises in insuring high-growth, often venture-capital-backed businesses. The firm operates a model that allows Brokers to focus on technical delivery and client service, supported by a dedicated Growth Team that generates new business opportunities.
The business is now looking to appoint a Broker into its Commercial team. This team manages a broad range of commercial risks outside of its specialisms, including manufacturing, retail, and warehousing. The role is a broad, end-to-end position that combines account handling, business development, and account management, offering full ownership of the client relationship.
The successful candidate will have experience in commercial insurance and will be comfortable working with mid-corporate to corporate-level clients, typically with premiums of £100,000+ and turnovers between £20m and £500m+. Experience with global insurance programmes, particularly placing UK master policies for international risks, is advantageous but not essential, and strong corporate handlers from a UK-only background will also be considered. A minimum qualification of Cert CII is required, with Dip CII or higher preferred.
This opportunity will suit a driven, hands-on individual who is comfortable operating with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, scale-up environment. As the business continues to refine its processes, candidates will need to be adaptable, open-minded, and collaborative in their approach.
The role is based in Cheltenham, with office attendance required at least twice per week, with Tuesdays designated as team days. More frequent office attendance will be expected during the initial onboarding period.
