SEND Teaching Assistant – Wantage, Oxfordshire

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: £89-£100 per day

A supportive and community-focused mainstream primary school in Wantage, Oxfordshire is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and committed individual who is passionate about supporting pupils with special educational needs and helping them succeed in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing tailored support to pupils with SEND, both one-to-one and in small groups
  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
  • Implementing strategies to support learning, communication, and emotional regulation
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, supportive learning environment
  • Assisting with the preparation and use of classroom resources
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other support staff
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school where appropriate

Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable, although training and support may be provided for the right candidate. A compassionate, flexible, and resilient approach is essential.
