SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Bromley
Position: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant
Start date: September 2025
Pay: 95 - 115 per day

Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bromley, South East London, to recruit a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school has an excellent reputation for its nurturing ethos and strong provision for children with additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional development is fully supported.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a patient, empathetic, and proactive individual with experience in SEND support who is passionate about helping children thrive in a positive learning environment.

Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs (essential)
  • Knowledge of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with pupils with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff and parents
  • A flexible and proactive approach to meeting the needs of individual learners
Main Responsibilities
  • Providing one-to-one tailored support to a pupil with SEND
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities
  • Supporting the pupil's social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Using strategies and resources to aid communication and engagement
  • Monitoring progress and feeding back to the class teacher and SENCO
  • Helping create a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment
  • Contributing positively to the wider school community
