About the School

Our client, a leading provider of education and care for children and young people in Newbury, is currently seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join their Ofsted-rated 'Good' school on a temp to perm contract. The school is committed to supporting students aged 6 to 19 years who have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), as well as other complex needs. Upholding exceptionally high standards of education and care, the school places children at the centre of everything they do to ensure all students have the best possible future.

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join our team in Newbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored support and education to a small class size of between 4 and 6 students with SEMH. We have both primary and secondary classes available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with SEND.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to both students and parents or guardians.
  • Work closely with external agencies and professionals to support the holistic development of students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, establishing trust and promoting their social and emotional growth.
Requirements
  • QTS/QTLS or possess a Certificate in Education.
  • Experience working with students with Autism is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
