About the Role

As a SEND Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils across a range of ages and abilities. You will work with small groups and individuals, adapting the curriculum and utilising specialist strategies to ensure every student can achieve their full potential. Close collaboration with therapists and support staff will be key to providing a holistic, student-centred approach.

What We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a SEND setting - primary or secondary
  • Strong understanding of strategies for supporting non-verbal students and those with significant communication or developmental needs
  • Knowledge of PECS and/or Makaton is highly desirable
  • A creative, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching students with additional needs
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, adapt, and deliver lessons that meet the needs of individual learners
  • Lead a team of support staff to ensure effective classroom practice
  • Use a range of communication approaches to engage students
  • Support emotional regulation and promote independence skills
  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Work in partnership with therapists, families, and the wider school team
