Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a SEND Specialist for our client a local government organisation in Gloucestershire.The successful candidate will lead a review and improvement project for Gloucestershire’s Local Offer, ensuring it meets the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), their families, and professionals. The role will focus on aligning local provision with national policy priorities and driving accessibility improvements to the Local Offer across the Local Area Partnership.This role is a 3 month role month initial contract with the possibility to extend.

THIS ROLE IS 4 DAYS PER WEEK + CAN BE WORKED REMOTELY.

DutiesandResponsibilitiesbutnotlimitedto:
  • Review Local Offer information through the lens of a Parent Carer, Young Person, Professional – SENCO, Health Practitioner, Social Worker and an Ofsted/CQC Inspector.
  • Review the information in terms of relevance and direction of nation policy; with particular attention to Local Inclusion support offer (LISO), Alternative provision specialist task force, ELSEC and Whole School Improvement programme.
  • Whole School Improvement programme.
  • Identify recommendations for improvements across all areas of the Local Area Partnership.
  • Develop a detailed project plan and timeline for delivering improvements and required governance arrangements for sustaining improvements.
  • Use expert SEND knowledge to deliver the project with partners across the local area.
  • The project will necessitate working across Education, Health and Care services and in co-production with parent carers and stakeholders.
PersonalRequirements:
  • Significant experience in education.
  • local authority experience.
  • Excellent understanding of accessibility and managing change programmes.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Education, Health, Social Care, or a related field.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in SEND and inclusion.
  • Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Ofsted/CQC inspection frameworks and their application to SEND.
Working Hours

30hrs / 9:00am - 17:00pm / 4 days per week

Pay

£525.00 per day
