Job Opportunity: Special Needs Teaching Assistants - SEN School, Bournemouth

Are you passionate about supporting children with complex needs? A specialist SEN school in Bournemouth is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join their team across a range of flexible roles.

Location: Bournemouth

Working Hours: 09:00am - 15:30pm

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Types Available:

  • Ad-Hoc (flexible daily cover)

Responsibilities
  • You will be supporting pupils with a variety of complex needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and severe learning difficulties.
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs (where required).
  • Support communication and sensory development.
  • Promote independence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with staff and families to support pupil progress.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred).
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to different needs.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
