Job Description

A specialised SEN School based in North West London is seeking a passionate SEN Support / Teacher Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Delay, or SEMH needs.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions and ensure pupils can access learning in a safe, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with class teachers and therapists to support pupils’ learning and development
  • Provide 1 : 1 and small group support, both in and out of the classroom
  • Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, and AAC devices (training available)
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
  • Helping students with their learning, communication, and daily routines
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or childcare setting.
  • Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
