Overview

SEN Teacher - Alternative Provision
Location: Old Trafford, Greater Manchester
Salary: 150 - 200 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier for the right candidate)

Simply Education are working exclusively with a well-established specialist provision in Old Trafford that caters for young people aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The setting delivers a bespoke curriculum with a strong focus on Functional Skills, vocational learning, and holistic support.

The provision is seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people who require an alternative to mainstream education.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver differentiated lessons across a tailored curriculum, including core Functional Skills.
  • Work closely with support staff and wider teams to provide individualised learning.
  • Foster a nurturing, consistent environment that promotes emotional regulation and academic progress.
  • Support students' development across key areas including English, Maths, Science, Sport, Arts, and vocational subjects.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Prior experience working within SEN or alternative provisions (mainstream-only backgrounds will not be considered)
  • A strong understanding of SEMH and trauma-informed approaches
  • Excellent classroom management and relationship-building skills
  • A commitment to inclusive, pupil-centred education
