Job description

Looking for a change? ever worked in SEN schools, love teaching but feel the bigger classrooms are too much and would prefer smaller settings

SEN classes have between 8-12 pupils. More intimate, supported by 2 TA's

Role responsibilities
  • Teaching all allocated areas of the primary curriculum; (English, Maths, science, topic, Geography, history, DT, ASDAN, PHSE, Computing)
  • Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class group
  • Maintain discipline within the classroom that is in line with the the schools Behaviour Policy
  • Motivate pupils enthusiastic, imaginative presentation, setting standard for lesson presentation
Requirements
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status
  • Successful teaching experience
  • SEN Experience and a focus on nurture - SEMH/ASD.
  • A good knowledge of the National Curriculum knowledge in more than one area
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Reflective practitioner
  • A good understanding of therapeutic approaches to education
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs
  • Proven ability to offer dynamic & engaging lessons
