Job summary

SENse Learning is hiring SEN Teaching Assistants to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support in students’ homes and community settings. Roles are ongoing with flexible, client-driven hours and a self-employed employment status.

Traumatic-informed approaches and safeguarding knowledge are essential. We welcome candidates from care or education backgrounds who can build confidence and life skills alongside academics, with UK-based eligibility and DBS readiness.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex needs.
• UK-based with the right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.
• Self-employed status is acceptable; guidance for registering as self-employed provided.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with children and young people facing challenges.
• Provide one-to-one support at homes and in community settings.
• Support development of life skills, confidence, and independence.
• Apply trauma-informed approaches to a wide range of needs.
• Model and promote emotional regulation.
• Provide feedback to track progress and adapt support.
