Job summary

SENse Learning is hiring a SEN Teaching Assistant in Luton to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support for Young People with SEND in homes and community settings.

Role involves flexible part-time to full-time hours, with in-person, hybrid and community-based sessions; you will build confidence, emotional regulation and key life skills while following child-centred, holistic approaches.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience with children or young people with complex needs.
• Background in roles such as LSA, TA, Youth Worker or related care/education fields.
• Understanding of child-centred, holistic approaches; flexible, creative delivery.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references are required.
• UK-based with right to work in the UK; safeguarding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people.
• Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
• Support life skills, confidence and independence through tailored sessions.
• Apply trauma-informed strategies and track progress with reflections.
