Job summary

SENse Learning is hiring a SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one mentoring and learning support in homes and community settings across the UK. The role focuses on SEND learners, developing confidence and life skills with flexible scheduling and client-based sessions.

You will work in a child-centred, holistic way, using trauma-informed strategies to tailor activities to individual needs, while keeping safeguarding at the forefront and progressing through safer recruitment processes.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience working with children or young people with complex needs.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and flexible strategies.
  • Experience delivering learning support in homes, community settings, or similar environments.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and 2+ professional references preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong, positive relationships with children and young people.
  • Provide one-to-one support in homes and community settings with creative activities.
  • Support life skills, confidence, and independence through tailored sessions.
  • Apply trauma-informed approaches to support diverse needs and emotional regulation.
