Qualifications

Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in a relevant area.
Minimum 6 weeks experience in a formal learning environment or placement.
OR 12 months’ experience in a formal learning environment.
Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety, SEN development, safeguarding.
Evidence planning, organisation, following agreed systems and teamwork.
Experience with SEN and challenging behaviour desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist with the educational support and care of pupils with SEN in the classroom.
Support with Education/Care Plans and evaluation as directed by teachers.
Promote inclusion of pupils in mainstream settings under supervision.
Assist with medical needs and supervised administration of prescribed medicines.
Maintain pupil progress records and provide regular feedback to teachers.
Attend relevant in-service training and support off-site activities when required.
