Job summary

Education Authority in Northern Ireland seeks a Classroom Assistant – Additional Special Educational Needs to support pupils with SEN under the teacher’s supervision. You will help deliver educational activities, assist with personal care where required, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Role requires following Education Plans, maintaining confidentiality, and working as part of a supportive school team to promote pupil participation and safety.

Qualifications

• Held a Level 2 qualification in a relevant area from a recognised awarding body.
• Minimum 6 weeks experience in a learning environment or placement related to the qualification.
• Desirable: 12 months’ experience in a specialist provision environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with educational support and care of pupils with SEN under the class teacher's direction.
• Contribute to an inclusive classroom by supporting access to the curriculum.
• Follow approved programmes and plan activities to meet individual needs.
• Support with administrative tasks and maintain pupil progress records.
